now, there are 3 firewalls on the internet and both linux & bsd are controlled by my government; we’re in a really shitty timeline.

FlyingSquid@lemmy.world on 13 Dec 00:01 collapse

Which government controls Linux? How would they even do it?

Trump is going to do this same exact thing, because of course he is. Restricting the ability to foment protest will be job 1 hour 1, along with pardoning all the criminals he can, and setting his DOJ on Joe and Hunter Biden

Shush, this post wasn’t about U.S. politics.

Don’t be rude, they can’t help it. They have a natural instinct to talk about US politics, even if completely unrelated. They are victims ;(

Correction: some VPNs

Russian digital rights NGO Roskomsvoboda told TechRadar that most VPNs didn’t work during the shutdown, but some apparently did. It’s unclear which ones or how many actually worked, though.

It’s not hard to block at the IP level. I’m curious what the other $600m was spent on.

Excellent. Can the web also cut off any Russia IPs to make sure it’s a clean break?

You don’t get a chance to un-fuck something so cleanly very often.
