Swiss authorities said on Saturday they had launched a criminal investigation into two French managers of a bar in a Swiss ski resort where a fire killed 40 New Year’s Eve revellers.

“A criminal investigation was opened last night against the two managers of the bar. They are charged with manslaughter by negligence, bodily harm by negligence and arson by negligence,”
