I mean, if done properly it is effective, it’s just not 100% effective, but no birth control is. But combining the pullout method with an IUD is going to be much more effective than an IUD alone, even though they’re already near 100%. Same with both control pills. Hell even if you’re raw dogging it with no birth control, it’s definitely a hell of a lot better idea to try to pull out than to just nut inside.

I remember there was a poster in my college health clinic. Pulling out combined with calendaring (tracking the fertile period) had a surprisingly low annualized pregnancy rate.
