Sounds about right for the Swiss. If the Eritreans had money, though…

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 15:56 next collapse

Deporting the useless and accepting the useful is a valid strategy for any government that is respecting its own people.

Tryptaminev@lemm.ee on 28 Apr 16:15 next collapse

Which is why you should be deported immediately. I’ve heard Belarus will probably take you for a few hundred bucks. No need to deport you to a country you are actually citizen off, amirite?

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 18:00 collapse

You know nothing about me, stop projecting

Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.de on 29 Apr 12:55 collapse

Richtiger Michi.

FlyingSquid@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 17:01 next collapse

Why are asylum seekers useless? Do you think they all fled their countries because they had no skills? I’m pretty sure they fled because their lives were in danger.

Also, there is a big difference between an illegal immigrant and an asylum seeker.

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 18:02 collapse

You’re the one generalizing. Some are useful, some are not. Sorting and processing them should be done efficiently, which is what the swiss are trying to do.

FlyingSquid@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 18:42 next collapse

I’m not sure how “deport all Eritrean asylum seekers” is an efficient way to sort them unless you think they are all unskilled, which is what you sure implied.

ikidd@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 19:22 collapse

They’re rejected asylum seekers. Now you may question the rejection criteria, but what do you do with people that don’t meet your qualifications for entry, and can’t be repatriated to their originating country because they won’t accept them back without their consent?

klisklas@feddit.de on 28 Apr 20:35 next collapse

Sorting and processing them should be done efficiently

Like we ‘processed’ certain people during WW2? You seem like a disgusting neoliberal who got fat and cruel from all the accumulated wealth you probably ‘worked very hard for’.

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 04:11 collapse

That’s quite a leap, but also about what I expected.

PsychedSy@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 29 Apr 10:11 collapse

Christ, you don’t process asylum seekers based on skills. If you want to nab some rejected asylum seekers that way, sure, otherwise it’s a humanitarian endeavour.

ours@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 17:50 next collapse

Here come the fascists…

Asylum isn’t some fancy, it’s to help people in need when we have plenty to share.

Maybe us Swiss could use more people with a heart instead of miserable and cruel bastards like you.

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 18:03 collapse

My parents were married when I was conceived, making me decidedly not a bastard. And the times when europe had ‘plenty to share’ are long over.

cygnus@lemmy.ca on 28 Apr 20:07 next collapse

Americans found it in their heart to have “plenty to share” to help Europe rebuild after the war even after being involved in the same war themselves. Most Europeans learned the moral lesson of that, but it seems you missed that memo.

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 20:20 next collapse

The US in turn received major influence in europe and has since massively benefitted from that. We stand to gain nothing like that.

klisklas@feddit.de on 28 Apr 20:31 collapse

We stand to gain nothing like that.

I guess you missed the massive gains from years of colonialism and ongoing resource drain from these countries. Now that refugees demand asylum from the ongoing wars, climate crisis and economic disaster which we left them in, Europe has ‘nothing more to give’ according to you. Ego centric hypocrisy.

nyctre@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 07:47 collapse

Guy should probably change name to ichbinfotze or something more appropriate

Maalus@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 09:28 collapse

Lol imagine unironically thinking that it was out of the goodness of the US’s heart

cygnus@lemmy.ca on 29 Apr 14:32 collapse

Sounds like you should do some reading on how hard-fought the Marshall plan was.

Maalus@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 15:19 collapse

So? It still wasn’t from the goodness of the US heart lol

thetreesaysbark@sh.itjust.works on 28 Apr 20:50 collapse

Ummmm. Have you been around Europe lately?

There’s a huge amount to share. It’s astonishing really just how much money is here.

I feel the real gripe should be with the lack of taxation of the rich, resulting in the poor not having enough to share.

Those same rich are telling you that you don’t have enough to share and to get angry at foreigners instead of themselves, misdirecting your anger.

Son_of_dad@lemmy.world on 28 Apr 21:07 collapse

What do you call the strategy where you pretend to be neutral while making money off war, and stealing the gold and money from the victims of genocides?

ichbinjasokreativ@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 04:12 collapse

Sound business?

Badeendje@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 14:04 collapse

Yeah, Eritreans are a difficult group… as they are actually 2 groups.

The first group left Eritrea in the previous civil war and have been refugees since the 90s. These are mostly pro-Afwerki, as he is the guy who then fought the opressive government to liberate Eritrea.

Since then Afwerki turned into a brutal autocrat and has spiked a second wave of refugees who are mostly younger and lived under Afwerki’s brutal regime.

And then in Europe these 2nd wave refugees are confronted with 1st wave pro-Afwerki refugees who hold rallies, spy on their countrymen and report them causing their families back home to be arrested or worse.

So these 2 groups are at odds to put it mildly. Causing violent clashes, usually between large groups, mostly when the Afwerki group is holding one of their rallies.

It’s really shitty to have to deal with. This is the case all over Europe btw. Switzerland is not alone with this issue, nor growing hardline stances. These types of issues fuel the right wing parties as it ‘proves their point’ and the inability for governments to stop it is an actual issue.

poplargrove@lemmy.world on 29 Apr 05:16 collapse

They really shouldn’t have omitted in the title that it’s rejected asylum seekers they want to repatriate.
