Summary

Trump’s tariffs have sparked international boycotts against American goods, with Canada and Europe leading the movement.

Facebook groups, “Buy Canadian” campaigns, and business actions—like Ontario cutting a $69 million Starlink contract—reflect rising anti-US sentiment. Tesla sales in Europe dropped 45% in January.

European retailers are labeling non-US products, while a Norwegian company stopped fueling US Navy ships. Experts warn US brands face reputational damage.

Japan’s Suntory Holdings anticipates declining demand for American products due to tariffs and backlash, signaling potential long-term consequences for US businesses.

Make America Broke Again!

Trump is doing an excellent job. At this rate, we will be destitute by the end of the year.

I can only hope these actions put enough pressure on people to do something about it and make their anger more publicly known.

X Doubt

I'm not boycotting because of the tarifs but because he wants to anex Canada and Greenland.

A different reason every day

I’m boycotting because of whatever tomorrow’s headline says, and then the day after that

Luckily I live in America so everything I buy comes from China. Easiest boycott ever!

he wants to show the world that he is the worst businessman in history…not only running several casinos bankrupt…now he will show that he can bankrupt a whole country…

The thing that is the most astonishing about all of it is not Trump’s ability to continually do what is in the country’s and the world’s worst interests and then explain his actions like a drunk toddler but rather that the entire remainder of the country, a country that is so powerful and controlling, is just sitting passively watching the collapse completely inert, without any fightback or opposition of any sort.

They keep talking about “midterms” and “next election” as if it will happen at all, or won’t just be blatantly rigged. And then they’ll just continue sitting on their hands

America is suffering a catastrophic case of bystander effect.

They are not the bystanders they are the victim and they need to realise that because it is fast moving to a point of no return. Their inactivity will bring their own house down.

It is truly amazing how little power Americans have for all their money

Thing is, he is alienating every US ally, while trying to become allies with Russia. So if they try to do a coup of the entire country in 2 years while the US has no allies but Russia, no country would be able to help as it would internationally be seen as a “foreign invasion”. Only allies would be globally allowed to enter (in this case Russia) which wouldn’t. Any other country that attempts to enter would be declaring war/an invasion, with the US and Russia declaring that they are tempting WW3 since they aren’t an Allie and so have no reason to be getting involved (in accordance to international law).

(It’s what’s happening in Ukraine now, no country is sending troops because it can quickly turn into WW3. MAGA is learning from Russia/Ukraine and will use what it’s learned to do the same thing.)

I live in the U.S. Well, sort of — I live in New Orleans and we have a different culture. But even I’m buying Canadian when there’s an option. I always rooted for Montreal sports teams or, if none exists, Vancouver anyway. (My Vancouver connection is because Pavel Bure was a beast in NHL 95 on Super Nintendo and I always picked the Canucks.)

Now it’s 100%. I found myself rooting for Canada in the four nations hockey final. Might as well bring back the Expos. I lived in DC for awhile so my Expos to Nationals fandom transitioned seamlessly. Well, they’re firing half of DC’s workforce and are cutting $1bn from the city budget. Move the Nats back to Montreal. The people need summer Youppi now more than ever.

I’ll still root for the U.S. Women’s National Team in soccer but that’s about the only thing I’m patriotic about these days. Trump fucking with Canada (and Mexico and Europe) is a disgrace.

This is not going to be like flipping a switch when he is gone either. The American brand going to be more ruined than it already was around the world.
