That’s sad but not surprising. These days it’s so hard to tell sometimes whether something is AI or not. I am actually even more concerned about the real footage being questioned and resulting in many false positives.
I recently talked with wife about that when she saw a picture that felt off. It made her angry about AI. We talked about it and came to the conclusion that if it is not an important image and it’s hard to tell then to just assume it’s real. It only makes you angry, changes nothing and might even falsely accuse someone.
For news stories I don’t really look for photos too. If it’s important I will try to use a wide spread of written media. That’s all I can do for now.

Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a bunch of people out there double checking the stuff for us? You know going out and talking to the people who saw it and verifying the info? They could even make it into a daily report thing.
Don’t mind the bitter old person.
