Isn’t that like the rock bottom approval number that Trump ever hits - like the same 30% or so are truly in the “he can shoot someone on 5th avenue” camp and they never waver.

I wonder what a venn diagram of that unshakable Trump 30% and this 30% look like. Not hard to imagine it’s the group that is pretty OK with anything that they think hurts brown folks.

It’s even dumber than that. Those 30% like Trump because they like Trump at this point. He could turn around and say Lenin is his hero and that we should throw off the shackles of the bourgeoisie and overturn the capitalist order and those 30% would still love him because they love Trump not any ideology. It’s completely stupid and not logical at all. Sure at the beginning there was some reason for it but now it is just completely worship for its own sake.

You can just say they are fucking stupid.

Around the same percentage who think the Sun revolves around the Earth. Now, I have no empirical data thay says those are the same people, but boy do I have conviction

And this is without unrestricted access of international journalism to Gaza. If western cameras get in, there would be another step change in these numbers, as there’s more room to fall with independents and Ds.

E: It’s interesting they haven’t asked about views towards Israel. I suspect those numbers might be just as bad.

Arkouda@lemmy.ca on 06 Aug 17:58 next collapse

I guarantee that 32% couldn’t point Israel or Gaza out on a map.

Still to high, it needs to be in the negative as well as Donny’s approval.
