A treat for the cat that they will prefer over meat.

My cat’s prescription wet food is less than half that per can. I often feel guilt for being a cat owner, but her quality of life is high, and she’d be killing so many native birds if she was still feral. I really hope that means something in the long term. Hopefully this becomes popular enough to affect the prescription food side of things, too

Cool. This is very good news. Vegan cat food was unthinkable for a long time because of the lack of taurine. Now they only need to become able to sell those products for a lower price and there won’t be any good arguments (i.e. not based on the naturalistic fallacy) against it. I mean as long as the cats in question will eat it. I heard, some cats are very picky in those matters.

Oof. Five USD a can. They really know they’ve got us by the nerve endings.
