Remember these things next time you hear farmers and “country folk” claim that they somehow live in closer communion with the earth than the rest of us.

Language restrictions, bans on lab-grown meat – these protectionist laws are likely the result of corporate lobbying from big meat, right? Such extreme market regulation seems so atypical of today’s neoliberalism, planetary health needs, and to some extent social climate for governments to go to the length, even if they are pro-farmer
