That’s pretty cool, I’m just hoping more plant based “chicken” options come to north America. I missed the window to try the McPlant, and it’s a little annoying there’s only really “beef” options.

Right! You gotta get the plant protein!

Nednarb44@lemmy.world on 11 Oct 23:21 collapse

No doubt, but (as a new “convert”) most places aren’t really set up for a proper plant based meal around me. There are a few options, but if I go out with the family or something I’m delgated to a plate of plain veggies or a pointless salad lol. I hope at least some day that a plant based chicken is as ubiquitous as the impossible/beyond patty

I doubt they will give it it’s own fryer, so it will go into the same oil that all the meat products go into. Don’t trust the Mac.

The nugget fryers are compartmented, so they could easily choose to have one for plant-based nuggets just like they have one exclusively for fish.

True, but the reason the fish one is separate is because the fish makes the oil taste like fish. The way some stores are run, I doubt they will operate in good faith all the time.

Meatless nuggets

Got me excited, (I gave up McDonald’s in my 30’s) but this is only McDonald’s in France.

1,560 McDonald’s locations in France,

My god. (I had to do a double-take; I would have thought 1560 McDonald’s locations in the entire USA but I’m off by almost an order of magnitude)

JubilantJaguar@lemmy.world on 11 Oct 23:02 collapse

McDonald’s in France.

4th market in the world after USA, Japan, China.

Hard to believe but true.

I wonder if this is a dual business move:

  1. To test the current market for adoption of this new product.
  2. McDonald’s current lawsuit against the beef packers

Nah. I don’t eat Israeli food.
