I just wanted to share it. I’m some random guy. It looks good.

Looks a lot like AudioBooth which is a great iOS client. Best of luck to them

Doesn’t seem to support podcasts

black_flag@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 11 Apr 22:36 next collapse

Vibe coded?

Edit: doesn’t seem so. Thanks.

What makes you say that?

black_flag@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 12 Apr 11:06 collapse

I’m just asking

Basically everything is proudly made with “assistance” these days.

tuxiqae@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 12 Apr 11:16 next collapse

Seems like some of the commits were developed by Google Jules

i.e. github.com/Dr-Blank/Vaani/pull/83/commits

That’s only the pipeline to build the AppImage. If you have some more substantial pulls would help.

Not that I would care personally, but some do.

I don’t really see why it’s different, but that should do:

Didn’t appear to be vibecoded last I checked. Guy’s been working on this since 2024

Why don’t people like the audiobookshelf app?

uuj8za@piefed.social on 12 Apr 04:36 next collapse

I currently use the official audiobookshelf app. It’s really slow and buggy for me. Every time I open it, it says it’s disconnected from the server. Then I have to click a button for it to reconnect.

For my use case, I can’t get it to autoplay the next podcast. I would need to setup a playlist or something. The Web version does this just fine, just not the app. I’ve been playing with Absorb and that seems to do this, though in Android Auto mode it breaks occasionally. Can’t speak for this app. Maybe I’ll try it and see.

TestFlight for their iOS app is full. :-(

Just throwing another alternative out there which I’ve been very happy with: lissen - ‘Clean audiobookshelf player’.

Has streaming/downloading for offline listening, sleep timer, custom bookmarks and custom speeds. Just the browsing functionality is at best ‘functional’ (nice search but if you don’t know what to listen to next just gives you one long list sorted by title)

I also use this and it is great

The UI and the transitions look neat!
