Want to migrate away from discord ? I made a helmfile for stoatchat (previously revolt) with experimental video sharing support (github.com)

Hey there it’s me again.
I made another helmfile for stoatchat, and yesterday enablex experimental video support (webcam/screen sharing), enjoy.
Docker-compose is also supported (via an unholy custom-made kubernetes devolver).

Many thanks to the stoat community, this one is a collective effort (using a currently non-mainline patch for video support)

Legend. I just got the admin panel working with my domain last night in cosmos-compose (including the admin panel shortcuts on the front end). Had to replace all the hardlinks in the source 😅 I was planning on replacing tenor with Giphy this weekend. Would that be helpful to share, if I get it working?

I was planning to do it myself, so sure go ahead !

Can I just use yours

pokexpert30@jlai.lu on 14 Feb 13:07 collapse

I don’t plan to host a public instance, sorry. Friends only (again, livekit is EXPENSIVE to run)

I thought we were friends 😔

Awesome thanks! I am personally experimenting with running stoat over I2P

Thank you for your contribution! Question, since you’re adding video support, what are the minimum / recommended hardware specs to host this?

pokexpert30@jlai.lu on 14 Feb 14:28 collapse

“Yes”

More seriously, no idea. All I know is it’s bringing my kubernetes VM to its knees, and i never tested multiple users at once

greenashura@sh.itjust.works on 14 Feb 14:31 collapse

Could you share your specs so we can have a ballpark?

6vcpu … Apple M4 Pro (yes i’m ashamed that I did this on my company-supplied mac)
