I want to translate the Touhou games into cantonese and I have no idea where to even start. Have any of you made custom tables for foreign scripts? Apparently some people already translated the games into Thai and that sounds like a lot of work

Sort of (I’ve posted a post about this too). They stop accepting new Romhacks and mods to the database, basically a database freeze. From now on, Romhackingnet will operate as a news site, plus the community and forum is kept operating.

I’m incredibly sad about this, but given the official statement from the creator and maintainer, it seems to be understandable. You can download all available tools and mods from the site in one Zip file.

Thanks, I’ll give your post a read.
It is incredibly sad, they seem like a real pillar of this super creative community.

Oh there is not much to read, it’s not a content post. I just wanted signalize that I’m aware of the situation. :D To me it came out of nowhere. I visit the page since years every day or few days apart. We lost so many resources and communities over the last few years, its sad.

I have no idea where to even start

Back in my day, we used a free Hex Editor to open the file, and just scrolled until we found interesting text, and switched it.

I’m sure there’s better tools now, though.

The tools will be fairly specific to the game you’re hacking. For example, a lot of tools exist for GBA Pokemon games, but something like porymap won’t work for another game.
