How did Russian Roulette come to be? I find it hard to believe someone came up with it one day saying see how lucky I am today? I include suicidal people in this too.

It probably started with less voluntary players. As in two people betting on whether their prisoner lives.

Eventually some one decided it wasn’t hard enough and turned it on themselves

The name may come from stereotypes of life being grim and/or cheap in Russia
