Crepe paper and crepe fabric are super thin and have fine wrinkles. That’s where the term probably comes from. The commercials are indeed awful.

It’s a bad joke. A Crepe is like a French burrito but wrapped in a different sort of unleavened bread thing. I love it. I guess it’s also a word for old people and their skin and the cosmetics industry
