I often see pajama pants for sale, and they’re awesome. However, I never see any pajama shirts for sale on their own. Where are you supposed to get pajama tops?

Just wear a t shirt.

200ok@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 02:11 next collapse

Same. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a proper pajama set. And I wear pajama bottoms as house pants – I don’t sleep in them.

Reverendender@sh.itjust.works on 19 Aug 2024 08:19 collapse

What brand?

xmunk@sh.itjust.works on 19 Aug 2024 04:58 collapse

Just wear a… well, why wear anything tbh.

I love my partner’s bigger t-shirts. I genuinely feel more comfortable and warm, especially on my shoulders. They can’t sleep unless the AC is set below 70, AND we have a window unit in the bedroom.

They usually come as pajama sets that have matching pants and shirts. I’d check places like Target, JCPenney, etc., especially around the winter holidays.

A lot of my graphic tees are just worn as pajama tops. Though female pjs often come as a set

bionicjoey@lemmy.ca on 19 Aug 2024 02:22 next collapse

The pajama drawer is the retirement home of tees that have served their time

T-shirt and hospital pants.

I found some at Costco once, and they’re more comfortable than a normal T-shirt. Only seen them the one time, though.

I asked my wife, my PJ tops came from Kohl’s and Target, but likely any of those types of stores have them. They are just very breathable, super comfy tops.

You are supposed to sleep naked like a normal person…

BlueEther@no.lastname.nz on 19 Aug 2024 03:20 collapse

untill the 9y/o daughter says, “haha daddy, I just saw you bits…”. And then brings it up every day for the next week.

Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 03:58 next collapse

Well see, that was your first mistake…having kids.

cleverusername@lemm.ee on 19 Aug 2024 03:58 next collapse

Been watching around naked their entire lives; young kids don’t care.

14th_cylon@lemm.ee on 19 Aug 2024 09:02 next collapse

Well, 9 years is probably too late to start explaining that nudity is normal thing and seeing your bits is as shocking as seeing your ear.

Apart from that, there is a bathrobe if you want to briefly cover yourself, but I don’t see a reason to strangle yourself by unnecessary layer of clothes during the sleep.

BlueEther@no.lastname.nz on 19 Aug 2024 09:35 collapse

Nudity has never been a thing to worry about before, but in the last 6 months or so she wants her space (fair enough). This just happend the other week. Kids will make more of somethings than others. and it all depends on the timing.

They tell me the story of when I was a kid where my eyes were about crotch-level for my dad and I walked into the bathroom while he was in his tighty whiteys. Supposedly I said he had pooped in his underwear.

obinice@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 03:29 next collapse

They come as a package, I’ve never seen the trousers on sale on their own o.O

Any clothing shop will have them, Debenhams, Next, Matalan is a good shout actually try there, you’ll even find them places like George. Anywhere that sells night clothes really.

Just pick cotton rather than polyester for your pajamas, much more comfy :-)

I have never heard of those stores; they sound made up! What country are you from? I’m in the U.S.

DebatableRaccoon@lemmy.ca on 19 Aug 2024 09:27 collapse

Those are UK chains.

Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 13:08 collapse

Yeah, as much as I love poly dry fit stuff during the day it all rides up so easily at night and I end up feeling constrained

grasshopper_mouse@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 04:25 next collapse

They often come in sets of pants and a T-shirt, but like others have posted, most of my pajama shirts are old T-shirts that have become too holey to wear in public.

Hikermick@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 12:00 next collapse

I wear flannels

AA5B@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 12:17 next collapse

Undershirts. They’re cheap and comfortable, and it doesn’t hurt to have more. Plus they’re not heavy enough to sweat in

folkrav@lemmy.ca on 19 Aug 2024 12:59 collapse

they’re not heavy enough to sweat in

This sounds like a challenge my body would lose. I just sweat all the time, regardless of the temperature or level of physical activity.

Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world on 19 Aug 2024 13:10 collapse

Most of my sleep shorts/pants just come from whatever section is on sale at kohls, target, belk, etc. the softer the cotton the better. I don’t have any dedicated sleep shirts, most of the time they’re the T-shirt I wore that day, or just some older larger shirts.
