It’s generally tougher in the U.S. because a lot of our smaller cities were founded post-automobile, post-suburbia and post-shopping malls, and as such they don’t have town centers. At best they might have a main retail corridor.
My ‘town’ is a rural cul-de-sac of about 25 houses, so I’d say at my place. And by ‘protest’ I mean we’d eat, drink, and relish not being online for a bit.

The city centre - UK and most European cities are concentric and grew outwards from a defined centre. Most protests generally start or finish in them.

In my city it would be outside the Library, which happens to be “the town square”, on the main street.
Is this a Palantir doxing thread?
Would not be surprised in the least.
Now folks, let’s remember…
We DO get to know new friends and neighbors with relatively open discussion on lemmy.
We DON’T share intimate details of planned resistance, identifying yourself and/or outing your town. That’s just… Just don’t do that.
This is where I chime in with a haven’t you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door, nooo
It’s much better to ^shutyertraps^
Why would we protest? We’d be free!
