Rarely, because I have decent self inhibition, even online.

But yeah, definitely things leak

Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 16 Jun 16:58 collapse

Look at fancy pants over here, “my inside thoughts are so special I better not let them out.”

Or

“Oo I dont want to burden people with the mastications of my mental process”

Im just poking fun, btw.

Well, in my defense, I think my inner thoughts are horrible.

Like, the one about hamsters. Nobody wants to see that.

Sounds like early internet stuff.

Kinda like that, only with more garden hoses

Oh sweet memories

Townlately@feddit.nl on 16 Jun 17:36 next collapse

Often, sometimes I can’t turn it off. :(

Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 16 Jun 17:40 collapse

Don’t be sad. It wants out, thoughts are mostly harmless.

Nemo@midwest.social on 16 Jun 19:10 next collapse

No.

TBF, I don’t really try to keep most things inside anyway, so there’s only a few I need to keep the lid on.

edgemaster72@lemmy.world on 16 Jun 21:14 next collapse

I mean, sometimes my inner monologue turns into talking to myself out loud, otherwise I’m not really sure what you mean.

Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 16 Jun 21:15 collapse

Have you ever been read?

edgemaster72@lemmy.world on 16 Jun 21:32 collapse

Like by a psychic? No. Otherwise I’m still not sure what you’re getting at.

Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 16 Jun 21:49 collapse

By expression

edgemaster72@lemmy.world on 16 Jun 22:02 collapse

Do you mean that someone could tell what I was thinking by the look on my face or tone of voice, that kind of thing?

Suck_on_my_Presence@lemmy.world on 16 Jun 23:41 next collapse

Oh absolutely.

If I’m writing, my face usually contorts to the part I’m on. If a character is sleepy, I yawn, if they’re mad, I snarl, if they’re sad, I’ll pout.

Otherwise, often my intrusive thoughts win. To be fair, my anxiety meds sometimes kick up and “activate” as my psych calls it, which makes me entirely manic and unable to hold onto that impulse control.

thatradomguy@lemmy.world on 17 Jun 00:12 next collapse

You mean like talking to yourself or having no filter?

Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 17 Jun 00:37 collapse

Yes

some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org on 17 Jun 01:22 next collapse

When I lived alone, for sure. I spoke my thoughts out loud constantly, just filling empty space. Now that my partner and I live together, it’s fairly rare. Unless I’m troubleshooting something, and then there’s lots of profanity.

FlembleFabber@sh.itjust.works on 17 Jun 18:16 next collapse

No, but one time when tripping balls I lost the ability to think without speaking. Usually I have an internal “voice” when thinking about stuff. That time I had to speak out loud just to have thoughts lol

Cracks_InTheWalls@sh.itjust.works on 17 Jun 19:52 next collapse

There’s been more than a few times my kid has called me out by saying “Use your inside thoughts”.

Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org on 17 Jun 19:55 collapse

I had to think about this for a minute. I’m generally an honest person, I try not to hide my flaws, I don’t shy away from conflicts and I try not to be judgemental. I don’t think I have a lot of “secret” thoughts. Those that I do have aren’t at risk because they usually involve something that was told to me in confidence and snitches get stitches. I will say though that I don’t particularly enjoy being put in a position where I have to keep a secret.
