It was an open secret in SV. I think it was more the Saudi investor types who didn’t really know pre-Gawker, money people from outside the community who wouldn’t naturally be plugged into the gossip. Supposedly there were some very wild parties with lots of witnesses so it wasn’t like he was hiding in the closet.
