Alice’s Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie features a verse about a blind judge. There’s bound to be a few in real life.
The story in Alice’s Restaurant is (mostly) a true story, and Judge James Hannon was a real person who was really blind. He played himself in the movie version of Alice’s Restaurant (as did Officer Obie, under the logic that it’d better for him to make fun of himself than for someone else to do it)
That’s awesome! I didn’t even know about the movie. Gonna have to look that up.
Why couldn’t a blind person serve as a judge?
No reason, I’d like to hear about one who is known. Most judges wear glasses…
