Are there any decent courses to learn about how to implement or use LLMs practically?

Ive found many little use cases but I’m interested in a broader survey pf what is currently possible

The problem is that this space is evolving so rapidly what comes out today will be out of date next week.

I’m not being hyperbolic here either. I work in this space. We start projects with one thing in mind and have to switch part way through because of improvements that happen during the couple of months we work on it.

The question you need to ask yourself is what is taking up YOUR time. Then see if there is a way to apply llms to reduce that time.

The answer is not always yes.

A mechanic can’t turn a wrench faster simply because an LLM yells at them.

However, maybe the LLM can remember they haven’t worked on that type of car before and tell them where the fucking bolt is hidden on this particular model before they spend 10 minutes searching for it.

Or the LLM can tell you that on other models the bolt is in an entirely different place, but because the company that owns the LLM hasnt scalped the manual for that specific model yet, you’re shit outta luck and about to be sent on a wild goose chase by an overcomplicated autocorrect sequence.

It’s almost like these things don’t have a practical use outside of creating fake users on the internet or spreading misinformation for the powers that be.

I literally build these things into automation processes daily. You may not see it, but companies are making (or saving) money with them all the time now.

This week I’m building out an agent to onboard staff for one organization and another to find edge cases in truck shipping. Both are already working well enough to go into production and I’m not even done yet. Time savings from pilot testing is already looking massive for these organizations.

At least thousands of dollars per week in wages on average, ROI is going to be only a few months even with the build plus ongoing LLM costs factored in.

Wouldn’t that imply experts exist who know how to teach the practical use of LLMs? Not last week’s LLMs, but the ones that exist today?
