What about wild cats/felids, do they ever indulge in fermented rotting fruit that becomes alcoholic?

Fermented rotting fruit are usually wine, not beer.

That’s why I’m saying that it’s wine …

I've definitely heard of cats drinking someone's unattended beer. Or like if it's spilled on the floor, licking some. It's an immediate vet visit kind of situation. I think it's just curiosity from the smell.

Alcohol poisoning from beer, wine, and liquor is rare in cats, since they typically find these beverages distasteful. However, it still can occur.

I guess most wouldn't go for it but some are curious and even a lick can poison them pretty badly. I think some cats like the smell of yeast a lot, so they're probably extra susceptible.
