Discord is a huge platform, with a multitude of servers with good portion of users discussing there casually without willfully causing harm.

KF’s main purpose of existence is to harass and target vulnerable people. It deserves to be shunned and shamed­, and anyone using that platform deserves to be ostracized.

OP is talking about the infamous hate site Kiwifarms, which she’s a member of. Proof of this: Click the link I just wrote. It’s archived, so UK users can view it. You can see that the OP in the Kiwifarms thread I just linked, “MoeAnguish”, includes text links to archived Lemmy posts (in the words “strong” and “dislike”), specifically, Lemmy posts that talk about Leni being a Kiwifarms user. The Kiwifarms thread was made less than a day after the Lemmy post that talks about her being a Kiwifarms member. Leni has also hidden links to her Kiwifarms posts in Lemmy comments as well. In the word “question” in the first one, and in the word “overrated” in the second comment. Those links go to Kiwifarms posts by “MoeAnguish”. Same writing style and opinions as well. Context of the Kiwifarms thread is about being recognised on other sites.

On page 2 (also archived, so UK users can see it) of the KiwiFarms thread, there’s a reply by Leni/MoeAnguish where she is gloating about me not approving of her defending Kiwifarms as a “free speech” site here on Lemmy on her Call Me Leni account (proof, scroll down to see Leni’s comment), and “skirting the law” is her referring to me saying I had to use TOR to access the site as I am from the UK. She also made the implication that I dislike Kiwifarms because I’m trans or autistic: “He probably flipped when I defended KF because he falls under the two demographics most known for seeing themselves as at odds with it.” The two demographics Kiwifarms harasses the most are trans and autistic people.

To answer your question about why Kiwifarms is looked down upon, a couple paragraphs from Wikipedia is sufficient to understand why:

Kiwi Farms, formerly known as CWCki Forums (/ˈkwɪki/ KWIH-kee), is a web forum that facilitates the discussion and harassment of online figures and communities. Their targets are often subject to organized group trolling and stalking, as well as doxing and real-life harassment.[3][4][5] Kiwi Farms has been tied to the suicides of three people who were victims of harassment by the website.[6][7][8]

Discord’s purpose is for direct messaging friends and joining chat servers. The purpose of Kiwifarms is to spread hate. It was also responsible for the suicide of the Higan/BSNES emulator developer, Near/Byuu.

Near stated that they and their friends had been doxxed and goaded into suicide by members of the website, and that Near had been mocked for being autistic
