Ginger settles your stomach.
Ginger can reduce nausea. Some households will have ginger ale but not actual ginger. Ginger ale without the carbonation is easier on your stomach than with carbonation
I keep a stash of ginger ale soda cans specifically for this, alongside some powdered pedialyte in case of hydration issues.
It has what plants crave.
Gingdo?
It has electrolytes
Be funnier if you just say electrolytes lol
Assuming that the flat part is why you’re really asking, it’s that the bubbles can cause burps. When you’re already nauseous, burping is not only a bad idea, it feels horrible to most.
Now, I tend to prefer bubbly ginger ale when my stomach wants to stage a revolution. Not sure why, but the bubbles and burps reduce my nausea.
That being said, if the ginger ale doesn’t have real ginger in it, it’s a combo of placebo effect and comfort. Ginger, and it’s extracts, are better than placebo at controlling nausea. But not every ginger ale has real ginger in it, so you have to check labels.
I like ginger ale and ginger beer just for pleasure drinking, but a lot of people don’t, so it’s also possible that the only ginger ale they have is flat.
I like how in the modern era, I can literally just go get whatever people mention that strikes my craving fancy!
Totally freaking agree tho about bubbly actually helping settle unsettled stomach, ironically
People make the association with ginger, which is a natural remedy for upset stomachs. However, ginger ale has a negligible amount of it, so it’s really just that flat ginger ale keeps you hydrated. But one could just as well drink tea.
