I personally wouldn’t. Question feels like screwing someone else over to survive. Estrangement is cutting off a gangrenous limb. Hurts but you feel better after the scabs heal. Estranged from my in laws excepting the oldest brother, who is also low contact with the rest. They’re sacrificing you

Actually agree with this, its just good selfcare. Nobody’s attention is owed unconditionally, much less when direct harm continues to be caused and the lack of respect that makes that possible
