Its lobby has been sort of criticized as a postmodern nightmare by many critics, how did you find it?

Seems like a scary place to be high for sure

I did some coke in there bathroom and eventually threw up in a banquet chafer. I can’t recommend any place that I’m allowed to go to.

I’ve stayed there. It was less fun than I thought it would be. I was hoping for stylish cocktails in the fancy pods but the lobby was travel agents etc. It was not fun or funky. Visually I still like it though.

I used to live in L.A. and visited the Bonaventure a few times. My most vivid impression of it and all the downtown office/hotel buildings was that these gleaming futuristic towers were surrounded by people living on the street in abject poverty and hunger. Millionaires and billionaires had to walk (or drive) past the homeless on a daily basis. I handed out bag lunches in the 80’s, and saw entire families living on park benches within eyesight of the Bonaventure.
