Do you think its possible for two different composers to compose competing scores for a work and both be received as individually/unilaterally iconic?

Its interesting thiking about how most successful franchises and works become sort of inseperable from the indiosyncracies of the composer/work and yet they feel more universal as if the score was always waiting for that particular story and it was only a matter of time until it was unearthed by the arbitrary composer

Like what would Banjo Kazooie have been like if it was Koji Kondo rather than Grant Kirkope…
