I have those TrueDark red sunglasses and they are actually weirdly relaxing. They would be very dangerous to wear while driving i imagine

Yes, I have blue light blocking goggles that I wear once the sun goes down, helps me relax before bed.
Same, had the amber ones before i got the True Dark but they are complementary. I can only tolerate the red ones if im going to bed soin or i want to mega chill. Otherwise i cant concentrate and it makes me to sedate
Dark and light therapy have been used for years with success, especially with people who have depression and bipolar. You can turn the intensity down with darkness (or at least by filtering the blue light out) and turn up the intensity with light.
I have bipolar, and depression comes knocking every winter. I have Luminette light glasses that I wear every morning for 20 mins starting in late September and all the way to spring.
I also have amber glasses to wear in the evening, especially if I’m feeling a bit hyper and need to come down.
I’ve never heard of the TrueDark glasses, and you better believe I’m checking them out.
For sure, if you wanna be cool get the sunglasses but if you want to block out all else get the ones that are more like thevCyclops Xmen goggle set that covers your eyes entirely
Also luminettes are great altho i find the phillips golite blu more invigorating in the winter
Yes, but usually just by going outside into sunlight or retreating to a dark room as needed.
We installed smart dimmers, smart blinds and smart switches. With homeassitant we can control the lighting in each room as it suits the mood or state. Often when working, and if I can tell the sunshine and work are going to create a headache, I’ll drop the blind almost shut and turn on a flood light aimed at the ceiling. The change to a darker room but still good lighting takes the edge off.
I’ve used Mindroid in the past and got good results from it both for stimulation and relaxation, but balancing a phone on my face for 20 minutes made it a bit inconvenient and I eventually stopped.
I’ve also used lights as an alarm clock and that was much more pleasant than noise-based ones.
