I absolutely hate service charges that are added onto bills rather than just raising the prices. So it isn’t really just one business in particular but I avoid all of those places. Upscale restaurants seem to be really into adding those these days rather than just paying their people better.
Haven’t lived there in a while, but I absolutely refused to go to any gas station that pulled the “cash/credit” bullshit. Having moved away, I see this a lot less than when I was in LA.
One gas station pissed me off the most which got me started on this boycott when I used my debit card and they charged me the credit price, which is like $0.10 more expensive. Gas is already expensive af enough in LA, probably the most expensive in the entire nation, and you want to pull this shit? No…I will go down the street out of principal and pay a few cents more than your cash price.
