Google is working on a “charging optimization” page in Android 15 that’ll let Pixel users set a manual charging limit of 80%.

That would be nice

I’d rather be able to set the time charging finishes independent of my first alarm in the morning, which is completely unrelated to when I need my phone to be fully charged. It’s super annoying.

I’ve had this on my OnePlus Nord N200 running lineage OS and it’s absolutely the best feature in my opinion. I can set my charge level to anything I wish, but I have chosen 81 just so that I can get a notification app to trigger once it hits that level, so I can unplug it and use it. I also have it notify me when the charge drops below 30% and plug it back in.

How long does it take to go from 81 back down to 30? It seems like effectively halving your battery capacity would be pretty annoying

It takes me a good portion of the day, so it’s not super annoying.

Why does this matter, I was of the belief the necessity to not 100% a charge and discharge was done away with with newer batteries similarly leaving a charged device plugged in does nothing but because it will power from mains until disconnected
