For two updates in a row now, automatic dark theme that uses sunrise and sunset is still broken for Google Pixel owners.

You guys turn off dark theme?

Im on graphene but my map app definite ly changes automatically based on lighting in my surroundings, and scheduling dark theme through modes seems to work too.

Graphene isn’t mainstream Android though, is it? Or is it like, cut directly from AOSP stable (or unstable) and patched/stripped in some custom way?

And yeah, I use light mode when it’s bright, i.e. during the day. Helps to see what’s on the screen… Especially in direct sunlight.

Pretty sure they take AOSP and rip the google out of it and sandbox any google you want to put back on it. I know they change a lot of things for security and privacy purposes but they also seem to pull things from mainline updates. Admittedly I am not an expert so don’t sue me if Im wrong about that

Cool, sounds plausible for sure. 👍

Yup, still broken and annoyed 😠

Hmmm… Working fine for me on a Pixel 9 Pro

I didn't even know that was an option; I'm 24/7 dark theme except in google maps which I use for navigation when riding my motorcycle.
