Back in June, the Pixel 8 and newer phones gained DisplayPort Support and the Google Store is now selling a USB-C to HDMI cable…

This is one of those features I will never use, but I’m glad it exists.
I found a good use while traveling it to hook it up to the TV in your room if it doesn’t support casting. Most (yes I know some hotels lock it down) have a way of getting to the HDMI port and you can watch what you want on it.
That’s wonderful but other companies already cover this market and Google’s cables are too expensive generally.
Right? I was gonna say, I didn’t realize the USB-C to HDMI cable I’ve been using for, oh a year or two didn’t exist and I’ve just been imagining the connection.
Also google dumped their USB-C DP support for generations for no reason and now all the reasonably priced used ones dont support it. Shame that they always have to make everything worse.
Amazon has sold them for years now…
I really wish they would enable support for my Pixel 6a…
